My sister came and went

My sister Jennifer stopped by last week for about 9 days, taking in the sights and wonders (sic) of D.C. life. She even joked about applying for a vacancy at my workplace. We went to the International Spy Museum, the Holocaust Museum, and a number of other typical touristy spots. She was good to have hang around, except she spoiled my cat Ashley so much that I've got an over-active, eager-for-attention kitty now. Not fun.

Anyways, not much else is going on yet, as most of my excitement is on getting this book publicized.

Now An E-Book

Click here and you will find the e-book format of "Reunion at University Avenue". For those of you who like e-books, this may be for you. It's also got the bonus of being half-off the regular cover price, and it's available exclusively through Lulu, while I concentrate my wider distribution efforts on the paperback version. Enjoy!

Student writes mystery novel

From the January 20, 2005 edition of The GW Hatchet:

The novel, released Jan. 6, centers on Mike Adams, who pens a bestseller about his experiences in student government decades after he graduates from college. He gets an offer to make a movie based on his novel. But one of his former student government friends, who is still attached to his days in the organization, tries to sabotage his efforts.

I've received my first hard copy of "Reunion at University Avenue" and it looks great. I certainly hope every one else who buys the book enjoys it, too.

UF alumnus writes about SG stereotypes

From the Independent Alligator, 1/7/2005

UF alumnus and former Student Government Treasurer Kenneth Kerns used to joke about creating a parody about SG during his tenure at UF. Two and a half years later, the idea has come to life. Kerns’ debut novel runs chock full of SG stereotypes he said still lurk within the Reitz Union.

Click here for the full article. Only one glaring error in the piece - I was never Student Body Treasurer! Still, I hope they will generate some buzz and do a follow-up once Amazon.com starts listing it.

But of course, anyone can buy the book now directly from the publisher using this link.

Reunion At University Avenue

My book has hit the proverbial bookstores! Through a self-publishing print company, Lulu Inc, I have released my first novel under the new title "Reunion at University Avenue". It's one party mystery, one part thriller, one part parody, and one part character-driven.

"Mike thought campus politics was funny. Until someone wanted him dead. After being a student leader and having a successful career in Washington, Mike Adams has decided to exact humorous revenge on the stereotypes of campus politics. The book became a bestseller, but someone from his past is out to derail a movie based on the book, and seems to be playing a deadly game with Mike. Mike must reach into his past, discern fact from fiction, and identify his antagonist before it's too late...

Click here to buy "Reunion at University Avenue". In the coming months, it will make its way to other online vendors including Amazon.com.

Enjoy!
